Matt Prior passed fit to keep wicket for England against West Indies

7th June 2012

• Sussex man will play despite eye infection
• Standby Steve Davies has been released

Matt Prior has been passed fit to keep wicket for England in the third Test against West Indies at Edgbaston.

The Sussex man had been suffering from an eye infection, prompting England to put Steve Davies on standby on Wednesday.

But the Surrey player has now been released and will dash back to Horsham to take part in the ongoing Championship match against Sussex.

Prior has played 39 consecutive Tests, not missing a match since he flew home from the Caribbean during the 2009 tour for the birth of his child and skipped the Barbados Test.
