Chelsea to face Manchester United in Capital One Cup fourth round

26th September 2012

• Cup draw sends Manchester United to Stamford Bridge
• Liverpool host Swansea while Leeds face Southampton

Chelsea will host Manchester United in the stand-out tie of the Capital One Cup fourth-round draw. United will travel to Stamford Bridge after seeing off Newcastle 2-1 at Old Trafford. Chelsea hammered Wolves 6-0 on Tuesday.

The holders, Liverpool, will host Swansea City in a match that pits the home side’s manager, Brendan Rodgers, against his former club. Manchester City’s conquerors, Aston Villa, were rewarded for knocking out the Premier League champions with a trip to Swindon Town.

Arsenal, 6-1 winners over Coventry City on Wednesday, will travel to Reading, while Tottenham Hotspur go to Norwich City. Leeds United, who knocked out Everton, will be at home to Southampton. There will be a north-east derby at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland take on Middlesbrough - the teams met in the FA Cup last season.

Wigan Athletic will host the lowest-ranked side left in the competition, Bradford City of League Two.

Fourth-round draw

Sunderland v Middlesbrough, Swindon Town v Aston Villa, Wigan Athletic v Bradford City, Leeds United v Southampton, Norwich City v Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool v Swansea City, Chelsea v Manchester United, Reading v Arsenal

Ties to be played week of 29 October
